Rhode Island toll bridge
The Claiborne Pell Bridge, commonly known as the Newport Bridge is a suspension bridge operated by the Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority. It is the only toll facility in the state of Rhode Island. The bridge connects the City of Newport and the town of Jamestown on Conanicut Island.
The discounted two-axle vehicle toll for Rhode Island residents on the Pell Bridge is $0.83. To qualify for a discount plan, you must use a RITBA issued E-ZPass and your 2-axle vehicle must be less than 7,000 lbs. GVW (gross vehicle weight). Toll charges for using the bridge are $2.00 per axle for cash/credit card or E-ZPass (non-resident).
