M4 toll Motorway

The M4 toll motorway[1]  (Kilcock-Enfield-Kinnegad) is located in the mid-east of Ireland. M4 toll passes through three counties of Ireland-  County Meath, County Westmeath, and County Kildare. The M4 toll road is approximately 35km west of Dublin on the Dublin to Sligo / Dublin to Galway route.

On M4 toll motorway, an interchange is provided at Kilcock connecting the Naas road to the Trim road. The route provides free flow connections to the N6 (Galway) and N4 (Sligo) to the west of Kinnegad. At Kinnegad grade-separated interchanges are provided on the N4 and N6 links. The M4 toll applies to the section of the M4 between Junction 8 (Kilcock) and Junction 10 (Kinnegad east).

How to pay M4 toll

The M4 toll Motorway accepts the following payment methods at their Toll Plazas:

  • Electronic Tag- Electronic Tolling offers the motorist to pay the toll without stopping at the toll booth. To get more information on electronic tags available for paying on M4 toll visit here[3].
  • Credit/Debit Card- Credit/Debit cards are accepted in all lanes including semi-automatic lanes on the M4 motorway. M4 toll currently accepts VISA and Mastercard cards only. 
  • Cash- Cash payment on the M4 toll can be made in Euros at both manned and semi-automatic lanes.As an additional service to the motorists passing by Sterling is also accepted at manned lanes. Copper coins are also not accepted in these lanes.
  • Prepayment Cards- Prepayment cards can be purchased at our Customer Service Office. These cards offer the customer a discount of 10% on the appropriate toll charge when the customer prepays for 20 trips.
