Louisiana toll bridges

Following are the toll bridges in Louisiana:

  • Louisiana Highway 1 Bridge[1] is elevated toll expressway from Golden Meadow to Port Fourchon. LA 1 is designed to be built in three phases. Phase One is the bridge over Bayou Lafourche and was opened in July 2009. Phase Two is from Port Fourchon to Leeville, opened in December 2011. and phase Three, is yet to be completed. Upon completion LA 1 toll expressway will extend from Golden Meadow to the Gulf of Mexico. 2-axle vehicles pay $3 toll to use the bridge.
  • The Lake Pontchartrain Causeway[2] is composed of two parallel bridges crossing Lake Pontchartrain. The southern terminus of the Causeway is in Metairie, a suburb of New Orleans. The northern terminus is at Mandeville, Louisiana. The tolls are collected on southbound span. Two-axle vehicles pay $5.00 toll with cash and $3.00 with a Toll Tag.

All vehicles pay $1 toll to visit Avery Island Toll Bridge[3].

How are tolls calculated for trucks in Louisiana

Tolls for trucks on the Louisiana Highway 1 Bridge[4] are based on number of axles. Tolls for “dual” axle vehicles are higher. To keep it simple, Louisiana toll calculator assumes trucks have “dual” tires.

Tollguru Vehicle TypeLA-1 vehicle class
Truck 2-axles2 axle dually
Truck 3-axles3 axle trucks and buses dually with 1 axle trailer
Truck 4-axles4 axle (dually with 2 axles trailer)
Truck 5-axles5 axle (dually with 3 axles trailer)
Truck 6-axles6 axle (dually with 4 axles trailer)

Tolls on the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway[5] are calculated based on number of axles and height of the vehicle. Vehicles less than 7 feet are charged lower tolls for a same number of axles. Since trucks are higher than 7 feet, Tollguru toll calculator lists tolls by number of axles.

All vehicles pay $1.00 toll to visit Avery Island.

Louisiana Truck toll calculator can help you calculate tolls and gas expenses for all truck classes in Louisiana.
